Rich list - Chalfont St Peter has been named the second richest area in the country in a survey by marketing data CACI with an average household income of £31,100. Gerrards Cross came seventh.

Mast anger So far nearly 1,500 people have signed a petition calling for the removal of mobile phone masts from Bowstridge Lane playing fields in Chalfont St Giles. Vodaphone have two masts but an attempt to erect a third by One 2 One was beaten when the council refused the company permission to lease part of the land.

Crime blow - A Channel 4 programme which commissioned a study be academics at Leeds University says that Gerrards Cross and Beaconsfield are two of the worst areas in the country for burglary and thefts from vehicles.

Stab attack - Police are appealing for witnesses after a 19 year old man was stabbed in Field Way, Chalfont St Peter on December 27. A 14 year old boy has been arrested.

Snack wars - Kebab cook Mustafa Altundagi is appealing against the council's refusal to allow him to park his snack bar in the ambulance station car park in Gravel Hill, Chalfont St Peter up to midnight on weekdays and 1.30am on weekends. A hearing starts on February 6.

Indecent assault - Police are appealing for witnesses after an 18 year old girl was knocked to the ground and indecently assaulted in Vache Lane, Chalfont St Giles by a man in his early twenties wearing a woolly hat. The attack happened at half past seven in the morning on Monday December 18.

Flood problem - Thames Water are taking special measure to improve the flow of water in the sewer under Chalfont St Peter High Street after it overflowed seven times in ten weeks.

Armed robbery - Staff at the Bucks Building Society in Chalfont St Giles building society refused to hand over cash to a masked robber with a shotgun so instead the raider grabbed a customer's purse and ran off. Afterwards staff and customers had to be treated for shock.

Credit cards only - Perfection hairdressers in Chalfont St Peter is asking for credit card payment from its customers reports the Bucks Advertiser after suffering two robberies in recent weeks.

Mobile phone protest - About 600 residents in Chalftont St Giles have signed a petition asking for a mobile phone mast to be removed from playing fields in Bowstridge Lane.

Church appeal - A campaign to raise more than two million pounds for a parish centre at St James', Gerrards Cross is underway.

Unfair sex - Members of Gerrards Cross Golf Club have voted against a proposal that would have allowed women members onto the board -a decision deplored by by a number of players.

Top musician - Pianist Kirjursha Makcharinsky, aged 15, from Chalfont St Giles, has won the senior section of the Chiltern Young Musician of the Year.

Marathon man - Chalfont St Peter runner Lawrie Mathers raised thousands of pounds for the charity Get Kids Going when he took part in the New York Marathon

Cottage renovation - £40,000 worth of lottery money is being used this winter in the restoration of the John Milton Cottage museum in Chalfont St Giles

Chalfont map - A detailed Chalfont St Giles village map, which volunteers have spent three years putting together, has been given a permanent home in the Memorial Hall..

Parking petition - A 1,500 named petition calling for the return of the "free for an hour" car parking scheme in Chalfont St Giles has been handed to councillors, but it will not be until February that the scheme can be reviewed.
