Sunday 31st March

Paying respects - Thousands of people are expected to converge on Windsor today wanting to support the Royal Family as they gather at Windsor Castle following the death of the Queen Mother. Special traffic arrangements will be brought into effect and overflow car parks opened. Flowers and cards were being placed by the castle gates and walls last night but police will be strictly controlling crowds today.

Local tributes - The mayors of Wycombe, Marlow and Aylesbury will be paying tribute on behalf of their towns to the Queen Mother today at civic Easter Sunday services. Council leaders at Windsor and Maidenhead were due to attend an Easter service at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, but this will not now be attended by the Queen and other members of the Royal Family, who will instead attend a private service. Prime Minister Tony Blair, who is staying at Chequers near Princes Risborough, is expected to attend an Easter service at a Catholic church in Great Missenden today before returning early to Downing Street.

Match on - Wycombe Wanderers match against Tranmere will take place tomorrow, along with other league and Premiership matches, the FA announced last night. Yesterday the Blues lost 2-1 at Peterborough. Sean Devine missed a penalty and Wycombe "goal" was disallowed.

Saturday 30th March

Rugby deal on again? - Behind the scenes talks are taking place that could lead to the Wasps/Wycombe Wanderers ground share plan being considered again as early as this coming week. Wasps director Charles Levison said yesterday he was confident the council's refusal to sanction a ground share could be reversed within a few days because, he said, "we have additional information we were not allowed to present to the council meeting." He was backed by the Rugby Football Union who said that an initial deadline for a decision of March 31 no longer applied. Initial talks have been called for immediately after Easter.

Motorway appeal - Police last night appealed for motorists involved in the 100 vehicle pile up on the M40 near Thame on Thursday to contact them even if they were not injured or their vehicle damaged. Scores of motorists left the scene of the carnage once one of the motorway lanes was reopened but police want statements from everyone caught up in the ruck so they can get an accurate idea of what happened. The two men who died in the smash were named yesterday as Matthew Soulsby, 36, and Dean Reed, 26, both from the west midlands.

High heels compensation - Flight Lieutenant Deborah Burns, 28, won a six year court battle for compensation from the RAF yesterday after she ruptured her Achilles when she was forced to run in high heels with a 80lb kitbag. Flt-Lt Burns, who now works in an office at RAF Strike Command in Naphill, High Wycombe, fell over on only her second day of training. A judge will decide the amount of compensation later.

Friday 29th March

Speed blamed - Police said last night that drivers travelling too fast in dense fog caused the 100 vehicle pile up on the M40 near Thame yesterday. Two men died and five others, including children aged six and eight, are critically injured. An initial smash between a motor bike and a van at 7am was immediately followed by 20 other knock-on accidents. The south bound motorway was closed for 10 hours and at one stage 20,000 vehicles were in a jam stretching 30 miles back to Banbury. Another accident on the M40 near Beaconsfield and another on the M4 near the Maidenhead junction brought more chaos at the start of the Easter holiday.

Clubs blamed - A number of fans said yesterday that Wycombe Wanderers and Wasps rugby club had only themselves to blame for the failure of their ground share plan because, unlike Wycombe Council, they failed to take legal advice. The council turned down the deal after lawyers advised that the ground only had planning permission for football, and in their view this did not include "rugby football". Last night the club was planning to prepare a fresh planning application to include rugby and the council was being urged to rush through the necessary paperwork. But it could be months before a deal is on the cards again.

Late moves - In a last minute flurry before the football transfer season ended yesterday, Wycombe Wanderers took on Bristol Rovers defender Andy Thomson on a two year deal, while Thame United player Jefferson Louis moved to Oxford United, also on a free. The deals rounded off a hectic week for the Blues. Earlier midfielder Martyn Lee moved to Cheltenham on loan and longest serving player Dave Carroll left for Aldershot.

Thursday 28th March

Rugby deal off - The ground-sharing deal between Wycombe Wanderers and Wasps Rugby Club was doomed last night when councillors rejected the plan after taking legal advice. The decision is a major financial blow for the Blues as they are to announce losses at the end of the season. Accountants were last night adding up how much the likely collapse of ITV Digital will cost the club in TV rights. On the brighter side, the club is set to announce a new shirt sponsor.

Driver killed - A driver killed when his Audi was involved in a smash with a Volvo on the Marlow Road was named last night as Andrew Hire, aged 35, of High Wycombe. The driver and a passenger in the Volvo are in hospital with head injuries.

Teacher cash - The government yesterday announced an additional £2.3m to enable Bucks schools to recruit more teachers so that primary school classes can stay under 30. However the award followed news from Bucks that they had to spend an extra £2.7m in the last 12 months recruiting foreign teachers to fill gaps in secondary schools.

Wednesday 27th March

Rapist released - A man who was convicted of raping a dying woman with Huntingdon's disease in a nursing home near Gerrards Cross is to be released today after an appeal by the Attorney General to increase the length of his sentence was dismissed. John Archibald has served seventeen months of a three-year prison sentence but is now due for release.

Legend departs - Dave Carroll, Wycombe's long serving midfielder of 14 years has left the club to join Aldershot Town. Carroll signed for Wycombe in 1988 and played over 600 games for the club and scored 100 goals. During his long spell the club has been under six managers, played at two grounds as well as won numerous accolades in which he played crucial parts including two successive promotions and a magical run to the FA Cup Semi-Final. Fans will hope to see him back in the future in some capacity.

New Striker - As one legend departs, Wycombe manager Lawrie Sanchez will be hoping that his new signing Richard Harris from Crystal Palace could herald another era. Harris impressed in a reserve game and has till the rest of the season to impress Sanchez into gaining a longer-term deal. Wycombe have scored just 3 goals in the last 12 hours of football, costing them their play-off chances.

Tuesday 26th March

Beeks on board - Wycombe Wanderers long standing chairman Ivor Beeks has been elected onto the 8-man Football League board. Beeks joins the board in one of the most crucial times in the league's history as scores of clubs face bankruptcy as the lucrative TV contract with ITV Digital looks in more jeopardy each day.

Night Club rape - Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was raped outside Chesham Stages nightclub on Friday night by a man she had met inside earlier.

Road chaos - Traffic Chaos ensued today after part of the A40 Oxford Road and several side streets were closed for up to 4 hours following a gas leak. Parts near to the leak had to be evacuated completely while Transco carried out emergency work.

Monday 25th March

Safety anger - Safety campaigners are astonished that the shop in Wycombe town centre that was devastated by a lorry smash last summer is back on the market without any safety measures in place. An inquest last Friday found that two women in Aitchison's estate agents died accidentally after a 35 ton lorry and trailer smashed into the shop front. The lorry driver said he was travelling down Amersham Hill but lost control after the brakes apparently failed. Police say both the driver and the company owning the lorry are to be prosecuted over alleged failures in vehicle maintenance. They said the brakes were poorly maintained and badly adjusted.

Death driver arrested - A 26 year old woman driver was arrested at the weekend on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, six weeks after an accident on the Wycombe to Amersham Road which resulted in the death of 16 year old Vicky Bishop from Tylers Green.

Big funeral - Hundreds are expected to attend the funeral today of 19 year old Danny Hatt, from Green Lane, Amersham, who died when he fell on a live tube line at Moor Park station last week. Danny was killed instantly after a playful fight with a mate went tragically wrong. At first his friend was arrested on suspicion of murder but when police saw the incident on CCTV cameras they realised Danny's death was not deliberate.

Football result - The Blues drew 0-0 with old rivals Colchester yesterday and remain in eleventh place.

Saturday 23rd March

Lorry company prosecuted - The driver of the lorry that smashed into a Wycombe estate agents last June killing two women - together with the company he works for - are to be prosecuted for alleged lack of vehicle maintenance it emerged at the women's inquest yesterday. The hearing heard that driver Martin Fahey told police he was travelling to the bottom of Amersham Hill but the brake pedal went straight to the floor when he tried to slow down. The 35 ton lorry and trailer hit a BMW and then a transit van before smashing into Aitchisons estate agents.

Cruel and freakish - Coroner Richard Hulett said the lorry accident that killed Wycombe mothers Margaret Doel, 48, who worked in the office, and Sally-Ann Jamieson, 40, a customer, was "cruel and freakish". Recording a verdict of accidental death he said the whole event in the heart of Wycombe town centre could have been a potential massacre. Estate agent Royston Davis, who escaped with cuts and bruises, told the inquest: "The truck came through the window. I fell to the floor and there was debris everywhere. It seemed it would go on forever."

End of the road - Two of Wycombe Wanderers longest serving players are set to go at the end of the season, according to well-placed sources at the club. David Carroll, a player who joined the Blues when we were still in the Conference 15 years ago, and Jason Cousins, who is currently enjoying his testimonial year after ten years are not likely to have their contracts renewed as players, but may be offered other positions. The Blues entertain old rivals Colchester at Adams Park today.

Wife dies after husband sleeps - Aylesbury solicitor John Hopton, 67, fell asleep at the wheel of his car, which led to an accident which killed his wife, a court heard yesterday. Mr Hopton, who was driving his wife and son on a holiday to Scotland last summer, was fined £250. His son, 37, is still seriously ill in hospital after the crash.

Neighbours weigh in - Thieves escaping with a TV and other household goods from a house in Washill Lea, Wooburn Green got more than they bargained for when they were spotted by neighbours. The residents chased them, cornered then and held onto them until police arrived. A man is expected to appear in court in connection with incident today.

Fingers crossed - Wycombe Wanderers should survive if the deal between ITV Digital and the Football Leagues collapses, sources said last night. Earlier the League said up to a third of Nationwide clubs would go into administration if the TV channel pulled out of the deal. Wycombe are in a better financial position than most clubs, but officials were stressing last night that the proposed ground sharing deal with rugby club Wasps could become even more vital if TV money dried up.

Thursday 21st March

Lucky escape - A woman pushing her baby in a pram had a lucky escape when a Ford Mondeo somersaulted and landed roof first just in front of her after it had been involved in an accident with a Jaguar in Rayners Avenue, High Wycombe. A Mondeo driver was in hospital last night with head injuries. The driver of the Jag has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

Motorway clogged - The M40 by High Wycombe was blocked for the second time in three days during the evening rush hour last night. Traffic was taking up to 80 minutes to journey the eight miles from the M25 junction to Loudwater after a three-vehicle pile up near Handy Cross. Evening rush hour traffic suffered similar delays after a similar accident on Monday.

Women's cup final - This year's Women's Premier League Cup Final is to be played at Adams Park on Sunday April 7, Wycombe Wanderers announced last night. Spectators will be able to see the game between Fulham and Birmingham from just £3 per ticket.

Wednesday 20th March

Airport workers quizzed - Hundreds of Heathrow workers will be quizzed by police today and over the next few days following yesterday's second multi-million pound robbery at the airport within six weeks. Police are convinced yesterday £2.3m raid on a security van was an inside job. Meanwhile last night they released without charge a man arrested yesterday in connection with the £4.6m raid on another security van in the airport compound in February.

Schools changed - Plans to change school catchment areas in Bucks are likely to be introduced in September 2004, councillors said yesterday. Earlier they had withdrawn a scheme due to be introduced next year because of parent protest. However councillors are still determined to alter a scheme that often leaves children living near local schools travelling many miles to other schools because children from further a field have been offered places at the local school.

Shire horses sold - Buyers from around the country paid thousands of pounds yesterday as shire horses, vintage cars and agricultural equipment was auctioned off when the Courage Shire Horse Centre at Maidenhead finally closed its doors. The 25 year old tourist attraction blamed last year's foot and mouth restrictions and increased tourist competition.

Tuesday 19th March

Gang fight - Police are appealing for help in finding people involved in a big fight between two Asian gangs in a Wycombe town centre car park in the early hours. One man is in hospital after his nose was virtually cut off by a knife during the fight in Bridge Street car park at about 3am on Sunday. One man has been arrested for alleged grievous bodily harm.

Crop protest - Environmentalists are gearing up to oppose Government plans to create several fields of genetically modified crops on farmland near Henley. Activists are threatening that protestors will destroy any crop.

Action group - Financier Christopher Mellor, of Amersham, has called a public meeting tonight to form an action group to fight on his local council who say that part of the council tax increase this year will fund improvements to the local government pension scheme. He wants others to join him in refusing to pay part of the council tax.

Monday 18th March

Rail victim - Police are today expected to name the 19 year old Amersham man found dead on tube lines at Moor Park station late last week. Another 19 year old man has been questioned throughout the weekend after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

Pub snub - Councillor refused to attend the official reopening of a famous old pub yesterday because they think they may have to rule on allegations that the new look has broken planning laws. The sixteenth century inn, The Greyhound in Chalfont St Peter, closed a year ago after it was repeatedly flooded by the River Misbourne. However there are claims that a type of brick used in the £1m refurbishment are not permitted in a listed building and the councillors may have to act as judge and jury on the issue.

Jubilee concert - Hundreds of singers from Bucks schools, together with the Bucks County Youth Orchestra, will perform a specially commissioned choral work for the Queen's Golden Jubilee in the Royal Albert Hall tonight. It has been written by Dr Tim Bowers, from Chesham, a tutor at the Royal Academy of Music.

Sunday 17th March

Stung - Brentford finished off Wycombe's play off hopes with a 1-0 victory over the Blues in a rain sodden game at Griffin Park yesterday. After a whole season's wait because of injury, the game saw the introduction of what manager Lawrie Sanchez had hoped would be an irresistible strikeforce combination - Andy Rammell and Sean Devine, but it was to no avail.

Saturday 16th March

Train murder probe - A 19 year old Amersham man is being questioned by police today after the body of another 19 year old from the town was found on railtracks at Moor Park station near Rickmansworth. He has been arrested on suspicion of murder. b

Wasps back off - Wasps rugby club were forced to issue an embarrassing statement last night contradicting an earlier claim from their top player Lawrence Dallaglio that the groundshare with Wycombe Wanderers was a done deal. Wasps said it was still in discussions with the Blues, but was also in talks about other possible venues.

Ted signs up - Wycombe Wanderers' Canadian international defender Mark Rogers - Ted to the fans - yesterday signed a new three year contract with the club. Meanwhile the Blues travel down the road to Brentford today with experienced regulars Andy Rammell and Paul McCarthy ready to play after injury lay-offs.

Friday 15th March

Armed raids - Staff at a BP garage in Amersham Hill, Chesham were tied up by a masked robber wielding a knife in an early morning raid yesterday. He escaped with cash. Hours earlier three men with rifles and knives raided a late night convenience store in Chalfont St Giles and made off with cash from the till.

Flying high - The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds said yesterday there were more than 500 Red Kites flying over the Chilterns, just ten years since the species were reintroduced to the area.

Fading Embers - Wycombe Wanderers manager Lawrie Sanchez began his expected clear out of players yesterday announcing that midfield Paul Emblen - whose goal at Lincoln saved the Blues from relegation three years ago - is to be released on a free transfer at the end of the season. The manager hit back at critics who claim he has no interest in the transfer market saying that in recent weeks he had tried and failed to secure Wolves player Cedric Roussell and Blackburn players Ben Burgess.

Thursday 14th March

Dallagio confirms - Top rugby star Lawrence Dallagio may be in hot water after letting slip yesterday that his Wasps side and Wycombe Wanderers have already signed a two year deal to groundshare Adams Park, even though the council have yet to give the go-ahead. Former England captain, Dallagio said : "Everyone is very excited about it. The area has a sizeable rugby following and the ground is superb with a 10,000 capacity."

Rape appeal - The Attorney General, Britain's top prosecutor, is to appeal against what he describes as an "unduly lenient" sentence given to a Gerrards Cross rapist who raped a 59 year old woman with a fatal brain disease in her Chalfont nursing home. John Archibald, 30, was sentenced to three years last April but it due out of jail later this month after serving less than a year. The Court of Appeal is to review Archibald's sentence two days before his release date.

Go away - Callers to the plush Flackwell Heath mansion belonging to Rashid Al Habtoor - the Dubai billionaire at the centre of a storm after the British natural mother of his son tried to snatch back the boy - were being turned away yesterday. Mr Habtoor is a regular visitor to mansion but has never been known to bring his son Tariq with him.

Wednesday 13th March

Station silenced - Swan FM, Wycombe's so called local radio station, was silenced by thieves yesterday who nicked a transmitter. The £12,000 transmitter was taken from a site in central Wycombe, but the station managed to keep much of its area on air.

Restaurant fire - A breakfastime fire at Loudwater's Ivory restaurant and bar caused massive damage yesterday. Firefighters spent most of the day ensuring it was safely out. No one was hurt.

Blues blasted - Two goals in the final five minutes virtually blew away Wycombe Wanderers play-off hopes last night. The Blues fought back from 2-0 down against Huddersfield and looked as if they might clinch the game, but the two late strikes more or less put paid to their season.

Tuesday 12th March

Thieves covered - Four thieves are keeping a low profile after a cash box they stole from a Bourne End travel agents yesterday will have covered them, and the money, in a hard to remove red dye. Police are appealing to anyone who sees someone with red dye on their skin to contact them.

Bad meat warning - People are being warned not to buy meat on the cheap after a spate of cow rustling. The latest raid came yesterday when an Aberdeen Angus was slaughtered in a field near Thame and most of its carcass dragged away. Police say there have been several similar killings recently, adding that the rustlers have no idea if the meat is fit for human consumption. If sold on the cheap it could potentially make people very ill, they said.

Sanchez stirs it - Wycombe Wanderers manager Lawrie Sanchez is a number one hate figure in Stoke today after he slammed the Stoke City side for having too many foreign players. "I wonder why foreign players are playing in the second division to be honest,"he told the Stoke Evening Sentinal. "What are they doing here apart from taking jobs of English and British players." Sanchez and his opposite number at Stoke, Icelander Gudjon Thordarson, don't like each other and not a word passed between them before, during or after last Saturday's match. A number of Stoke fans spent most of the game goading the Wycombe boss.

Monday 11th March

Town centre brief- Councillors will tonight spell out their vision for a new town centre in High Wycombe running from Bridge Street to the existing Octagon centre. They will say the Phoenix project, as it is called, should not only include departments stores, an entertainment complex and state-of-the-art library, but should be designed so the River Wye, which currently runs underground should be opened up with piazza style cafes, bars and restaurants long its riverbanks.

New arrest - A third man from High Wycombe has been arrested following a shooting incident in Buckingham Drive last weekend. The 24 year old is being questioned along with another man from Wycombe and one from Southall by police investigating an attempted murder.

Plumbers response - The BBC has received a huge response to a weekend consumer programme which exposed three local plumbing companies. A professional plumber "set up" the companies by arranging jobs at a house in Downley that needed only minor repairs. Hidden cameras followed the workmen as they wasted time, misled the customer and ended up charging hundreds of pounds for jobs that should have been just a few pounds.

Sunday 10th March

First win - Wycombe Wanderers beat Stoke City for the first time when Jermaine McSporran tapped in the only goal of the game at Adams Park yesterday.

Saturday 9th March

Body found - Police are investigating if there are suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body in the toilets at Wycombe bus station yesterday (Friday). The body was found in a cubicle by a passenger.

Rugby delay - Optimism was high last night that the proposed ground share between Wycombe Wanderers and Wasps rugby club will go ahead following private indications from Wycombe Council that the deal will fall within planning rules. However the council is not going to make a formal decision until March 27 - just days before Wasps have to tell rugby authorities they definitely have a ground to play on next season.

Stoke visit - Regulars Michael Simpson and Mark Rogers are back for Wycombe Wanderers today for the visit of title chasing Stoke. The Blues will be determined to prevent a fourth successive defeat - it would mark an unwelcome "first" for manager Lawrie Sanchez.

Friday 8th March

Life for drunken waiter - Former waiter Musaraf Ali, 23, is starting a life sentence today after being found guilty of stabbing chef Abdul Bari in Burnham's Akash Tandoori restaurant. Reading Crown Court heard he stabbed Mr Bari three times when the chef, a strict Muslim, refused an alcoholic drink. Ali was told he would be deported to his home country, Bangledesh once his sentence was completed.

Rugby decision due - Wycombe Wanderers and Wasps rugby club are due to hear today whether their wish to share Adams Park next season will by blocked by the council. A number of councillors and local residents are said to be opposed to the move.

Richest town - Maidenhead is now the wealthiest area outside London, according to a survey by Barclays yesterday. The bank said that average earnings in the town are over £30,000 a year.

Thursday 7th March

Shooting arrests - Two men - a 25 year old from High Wycombe and a 24 year old from Southall - were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder yesterday by police investigating the Sunday afternoon's shootings in Buckingham Drive, Wycombe. However a man seen by neighbours being beaten by a bat and then shot at, is still being sought.

Splash of yellow - Local ambulances are to be the first in the country to be painted yellow as part of a national agreement to bring ambulances in line with those in the rest of Europe. Meanwhile councillors in Windsor and Maidenhead meet tonight to discuss whether to paint all their school buses yellow, like those in the USA.

No players plea - Frustrated Wycombe Wanderers manager Lawrie Sanchez - attempting to explain a 4-0 drubbing by Brighton - said yesterday he had simply "run out of players" because of injuries and suspensions. However, he also had a go at Brighton describing them as a "one man team", after Bobby Zamora hit home two goals.

Wednesday 6th March

Shooting in street - Police were baffled last night by a gangster type battle in a peaceful residential street in which a man was seen to be beaten up with a bat and then, with his friend, chased by another man firing a handgun. The scene was witnessed by scores of residents on Sunday afternoon in Buckingham Drive, Wycombe but so far neither the attacked man nor his mate, have been near a hospital or police station.

"Knife attack" in WH Smith - William Dawe, 18, of Rutland Avenue, Wycombe was remanded in custody by the town's magistrates yesterday following an incident in the town's WH Smith on Monday in which a 21 year old man was allegedly threatened with a knife. Dawe was charged with possessing an offensive weapon, affray and intimidating a witness.

Brighton blues - Wycombe Wanderers' play-off hopes seemed a distant dream last night after the Blues were stuffed 4-0 to title-chasers Brighton in a Division 2 clash. It means Wycombe have conceded 12 goals in the last five games and scored only once.

Tuesday 5th March

Garage banned - Clubs and pubs in the Wycombe area are under pressure to ban Garage gigs after the double shooting at Reading's Matrix Club at the weekend. Last night the club banned all future Garage scene events because of the increasing violence that's becoming associated with them. The club urged other venues to follow suit, and offered a £10,000 reward to catch the attacker. A 19 year old man remains critical after being shot in the head. A security guard is recovering from bullet wounds to his stomach.

Terrorist mistake - Law student Adeel Akhtar, 21, from Gerrards Cross is threatening legal action after he was mistakenly identified as an international terrorist. He said yesterday that his experience of being led off a plane in New York in handcuffs and being questioned for three hours left him shattered. Mr Akhtar said officials apologised to his friend - who is white and Irish - after they realised their mistake, but not to him. American government officials said Mr Akhtar looked like a suspect wanted in connection with the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Farewell - Tommy Andrews, a leading goalscorer for Wycombe Wanderers for 16 years in the 1930s and 40s - and a regular supporter all his life - has died at his home in Downley, the club announced yesterday. Meanwhile the team travel to Brighton tonight with manager Lawrie Sanchez likely to shuffle the squad that played so dismally at the weekend.

Monday 4th March

Shooting appeal - Police are appealing for help from clubbers - many from the Wycombe area - who were at Reading's Matrix early Saturday when two men were shot. One, a 19 year old man, is in a critical condition and the other, a security guard, is improving in hospital. The shootings occurred in a garage gig headed by Heartless Crew and police are today pouring over CCTV pictures in the hope of finding clues.

Rugby campaign - Wycombe Wanderers begins a big campaign today to persuade Wycombe Council to give the go-ahead to a planned ground sharing next season with Wasps rugby club. The football club says such a deal would strengthen income and help build a better team.

Yoga nogo - Council bosses are set to reject a plan to develop a Yoga therapy centre in West Wycombe Road because they think too many people will want to use it and it would create a traffic hold-up.

Sunday 3rd March

Awful - Wycombe Wanderers suffered their third home defeat in succession when they fell 2-0 to strugglers Bury at Adams Park in their most dismal display of the season. Afterwards manager Lawrie Sanchez said he did not blame fans who booed at the end.

Saturday 2nd March

Girl critical - A nine year old Chesham girl was in a critical condition in Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital last night after an horrific road smash on the A41 at Aylesbury. The girl, who has not been named, was a back seat passenger in a Volvo involved in the crash with an articulated lorry. The drivers of both vehicles escaped injury.

Murder charge - Muslim chef Abdul Bari was murdered by a former waiter at his Burnham restaurant because he was offended at being offered an alcoholic drink, a court heard yesterday. Musaraf Ali, 23, denies murdering Mr Bari with a kitchen knife.
